A vast reservoir of stupidity
Upon investigating the EDL the conclusion has to be drawn, in a scientific sort of fashion, that Facebook exerts a gravitational pull that draws all the stupid people into one place. They then form a super-dense mass of stupidity, so dense that common sense, factual evidence and reason cannot enter it. In effect a vast reservoir of stupidity. It clearly demonstrates the long held belief that knowledge and wisdom are two separate things and the former is useless without the latter.
It’s a well known fact that the English Defence League loves soldiers. More to the point, they love to exploit soldiers for their propaganda and self publicity. For this purpose the dead hero is favoured, because their sacrifice can be given any particular slant that is seen fit. This is common outside of the EDL of course: “Our soldiers didn’t fight so our country would end up like this”, is a common theme with variations relating to different modern social issues.
The EDL’s version of this popular meme involves “Our soldiers didn’t fight so Muslims could come to our country” and “Our soldiers didn’t fight so immigrants could come to our country”. Well actually, yeah, they fought to defeat the Central and Axis powers. They weren’t fighting to create some sort of planned future society in which, due to their efforts, everything was going to be set in stone and society was going to stand still. Fighting for a better future? Yes, one where the Kaiser or Hitler no longer menaced Britain. Fighting for a better society? Yes, a better society that rewarded people for their sacrifices during the war, which is why Atlee introduced the Welfare State and the NHS.
I quite honestly can’t see how the British soldiers of WW2 especially would be fighting for a future society based on racial purity and the outlawing of a particular religious minority! But that’s what the EDL think anyway it seems; that fascism’s OK if it’s a) British and b) its main victims are Muslims.
The following is a screengrab from a few days ago. It only has 10% of the total stupidity of that thread, because our screengrab programme couldn’t handle any more. On it you will see fake Hindus with Sikh names claiming to be from Kashmir. You will discover that in WW2 Germany was a neutral power and British controlled Palestine fought for the Axis. Also revealed is the fact that c.30,000 Muslims is larger than c.700,000 Muslims and coastal erosion is caused by immigrants. Discover how WW1 and WW2 British soldiers fought to keep Britain free of Muslims, like Hitler fought to keep Germany free of Jews. Incredible facts are on show here such as Muslim volunteers in WW2 were conscripted and defended Mecca by fighting in countries as far from Mecca as Italy and Burma, even though Mecca was never threatened. Be amazed by how the Illuminati have created mass immigration and how peaceful genocide of Muslims is possible. Be astounded to discover that Nasser and Jinnah weren’t nationalists because their religion forbade it. Marvel at the amazing double standards of the thickos of the EDL. Pity those foolhardy types who attempt to reason with them. All here in this screengrab!
The bit about the Peace of Westphalia (1648) meaning that German territory couldn’t be used to create Israel in 1948 is a favourite. Looking at the posts you’d think WW1 was a war between Britain and Turkey, and Gallipoli was the only battle. You’d also think WW2 was a war that saw the world take on the Nazis (led by Hitler) and most Muslims (led by the Grand Mufti). You don’t get the impression that German Christians made up most of the German forces and there were far more Muslims on the Allied side. Like Hitler and the Nazis came from Nazi Land and their religion was Nazi. Another favourite is how a couple of people on there think that the government wants Muslims to take over or is in coalition with Muslims in order to take over. This is pure tinfoil hat time and reminiscent of the German post WW1 stab-in-the-back legend!
Finally I would like to repeat and expand upon some of the annotations from the screengrab.
Over 700,000 Muslims joined the Indian Army in WW2, which was entirely made up of volunteers. The Muslims weren’t conscripts, they weren’t forced to join up. There were 2.5 million soldiers in the Indian Army, the largest volunteer army ever seen. 65% of the Indian Army soldiers who were fighting in North Africa, Italy and Burma were Muslim. The first elements of the Indian Army to see action in WW2 were four mule transport companies that were from Rawalpindi, part of modern-day Pakistan. Here are soldiers of the Royal Indian Army Service Corps who were killed in action> http://www.cwgc.org/foreverindia/assets/pdf/WW2_PDF_Mules_RIASC_Mules_Coys.pdf
Notice the Muslim names and that many came from modern-day Pakistan.
In the screengrab the names Fazal Din, Abdul Hafiz and Ali Haidar are mentioned: all VC winners. Here’s Din’s (a Punjabi Muslim) citation for his posthumous Victoria Cross.
During the Second World War, Fazal Din’s battalion, 7/10th Baluch, fought against the Japanese Army in the Burmese Campaign. On 2 March 1945, near Meiktila, Burma, No. 18602 Naik Fazal Din was commanding a section during a company attack on a Japanese bunkered position. His section was held up by machine-gun fire and grenades from several bunkers. Unhesitatingly, he attacked the nearest position with grenades and silenced it; but as he led his men against the other bunkers, six Japanese soldiers rushed from a nearby house, led by two officers wielding swords. The section Bren gunner shot one officer and an enemy soldier, but ran out of ammunition and was killed by the second officer. Naik Fazal Din rushed to the assistance of his stricken comrade but the Japanese ran his sword through his chest. As he withdrew the sword, Fazal Din, despite his terrible wound, seized the sword from the Japanese officer and killed him with it. He then killed two more Japanese soldiers with the sword. Continuing to encourage his men, he staggered to his Platoon Headquarters to make his report. He collapsed there, and died soon after reaching the Regimental Aid Post. His action was seen by the whole platoon, who, inspired by his gallantry, continued the attack and annihilated the Japanese garrison of fifty-five men. Such supreme devotion to duty even when fatally wounded, presence of mind and outstanding courage have seldom been equalled and reflect the unquenchable spirit of a singularly brave and gallant NCO. For his incredible feat of valour, Naik Fazal Din was awarded a posthumous Victoria Cross.
Consider that when you see the EDL claiming they are fighting a war by getting pissed, fighting the police and committing acts of vandalism. Consider that when the cowardly EDL claim that Muslims all sided with Hitler and never fought in the cause of freedom.
